Miami Real Estate for Foreign Buyers

You can buy in Florida without a visa
A foreign buyer can take title to a house, condo, or townhome in Miami-Dade or Broward with a passport. Citizenship, a green card, and a Social Security number are not prerequisites for the purchase. How you hold title, what a lender will require, and how a later sale is taxed are separate questions for your attorney, your lender, and your tax advisor. Cash wires to title after a source-of-funds review are common. Foreign-national mortgages exist and often ask for more cash in than a domestic conventional loan. The lender sets the terms for your file. If you are buying with a U.S. conventional or FHA loan, use the buyer's guide instead.

Can a foreign national buy property in Miami?
Yes. Foreign nationals can buy houses, condos, and townhomes in Florida without U.S. citizenship, U.S. residency, or a Social Security number. Title can be held in a personal name or in another structure your attorney and CPA recommend. The purchase does not grant a visa or immigration status.
Where should a buyer from Colombia start?

Does buying a Miami home give me a U.S. visa?
